The addition of ZD 7288 did not result in significant changes in the time course or amplitude of EPSPs elicited by identified CA2 pyramidal cells, or of spontaneous EPSPs. There was, however, a significant increase in the frequency of spontaneous EPSPs recorded in CA2 interneurons (Student's unpaired test, P< 0.05).
