  • For analysis of intrinsic cell properties, an ANOVA with post hoc Tukey's multiple comparison test was used to compare the different groups. Significant differences (at least p < 0.05) are marked: s, slow-firing neurons; f, fast-firing neurons; b, burst-firing neurons; c, cluster-firing neurons. Note that values for each cell type are pooled across three different experimental conditions and that a small number of cells receiving IPSPs from the hippocamposeptal pathway could not be included, because their characterization was incomplete or their intrinsic properties did not allow unambiguous classification.
