Values are means ± SE. Cholinergic suppression of Schaffer–collateral EPSPs by bath-applied carbachol (10 μM for 5 min) in CA1 pyramidal neurons. Changes in EPSP amplitude were measured at the end of carbachol treatment and relative to values measured in baseline conditions.
