  • Within-cell regressions of variables characterizing firing behavior during triangular current ramps (Dependent variables) on the following independent variables: base-to-peak amplitude of the ramp (Amplitude), rectangular current pulse on which the ramp is superimposed (Offset), the interaction of amplitude and offset (Amplitude × Offset), and cell. The percentages of the total variance of the dependent variables that was uniquely accounted for by the regressions are shown for Amplitude, Offset, their interaction, and for all three factors summed (Pooled). ΔI, decrecruitment − recruitment current; ΔF, decrecruitment − recruitment rate; pps, pulses per second.

  • * P < 0.05,

  • ** P < 0.01, and

  • *** P < 0.001, variance accounted for by variable(s) significantly different from zero.
