  • This table shows mean values and SE, of total axon length, total dendrite length, soma area, cell area, and membrane resistivity (R m) derived from neuronal reconstructions. Note that these cells are a subset of the total population recorded, because not every cell was adequately recovered and reconstructed. Cable model electrotonic length (L) expressed in units of space constant (λ) was calculated using the measured input resistance (R N) and the soma and dendritic parameters of the Neurolucida neuronal reconstruction assuming specific internal resistivity of 200 ohm-cm. Physiological L expressed in units of space constant (λ) was calculated from the measured τ0 and τ1 values using the equationL = π × [(τ01) − 1]−1/2.
