EPSPs elicited in wide dendritic arbor CA2 basket cells were similar in amplitude to those elicited in narrow dendritic arbor CA2 basket cells (MW U, P > 0.05, U = 41.5) and in CA1 basket cells (MW U, P > 0.05, U = 57). The width at half amplitude of these EPSPs was however significantly broader than those of EPSPs elicited in CA1 basket cells (MW U, P < 0.05, U = 30.5) and in narrow dendritic arbor CA2 basket cells (MW U, P < 0.05, U = 16.5). The rise time was not, however, significantly different from that of EPSPs elicited in CA1 basket cells (MW U, P > 0.05, U = 73.5) or narrow dendritic arbor CA2 basket cells (MW U, P > 0.05, U = 51.5).
