The number of recorded neurons (n) and the number of morphologically reconstructed cells (in parentheses). RMP, resting membrane potential; input resistance calculated using linear regression of voltage changes with applied hyperpolarizing current steps (−100 pA, increments of 25 pA). Membrane time constant (τ) was measured by fitting the first 200 ms of the hyperpolarizing voltage step response with an exponential function. Peak frequency was measured as the discharge observed when a step current of 200 pA was applied to the neuron. Adaptation is the ratio of 1 − (number of APs in last 200 ms/number of APs in first 200 ms) during a step current of 200 pA, multiplied by 100. AP width is the duration of the action potential measured at half-amplitude. Values are in s.e.m. *Significant differences in values between FS and non-FS interneurons. All results are shown as mean ± s.e.m. | ||||
